KFOR said the final exercise finds soldiers carrying out rescue measures during a simulation.
The “Kurds are designed to simulate realistic scenarios, challenging students [the soldiers] to use different parts of the course to realise proper care for the injured. These skills are designed for combat, but they can be used in the daily situations of emergency responses that the LMT may face in communities throughout Kosovo”.
KFOR reiterated that it continues to implement its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 to contribute to a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially.
KFOR works in close co-ordination with Kosovo Police and EULEX (the European Union for Rule of Law) in their respective roles as security reactions.
