27 years since the fall of the first witness of KLA's Age, Miftar Rreci

As of today, 27 years ago, it was Miftar Rreci from Skywright, the one who fell heroic as the first witness to the glorious battle of 5, 6 and 7 March, 1998. The race had been attached long ago to the Kosovo Liberation Army, where, together with ideal friends, it started and built the uprising against the Serbian aggressor.

It was the first days of March 1998, when the Serbian occupationary increased the intensity of the present military forces throughout Skenderaj, especially in the villages of Prekaz, Polaca, Láusa, where attacks on the Jashari family and the Drenica region in general began. The first danger, Serbian forces would come from Lausha, this village, which was constantly being cared for by Miftari with friends. It was in Lausha on the morning of March 5th that Rreci was tending and monitoring the situation in surrounding areas, including Prekaz, which was also the basis of the attack organised by Serbian forces.

Understanding the situation, Mifttar Rreci along with several fellow fighters were activated and brought out in direct confrontation with Serb forces, where after some battle it came heroicly as the first witness of the legendary March Age. In 2014, in honor of his work and contribution, Lapidari was built on his home village, where many remember and glorify his life and work dedicated to the homeland.
