ZPS Quits Questioning Tara

Prosecutor Vega Iodice has given up his insistence on obtaining Ismet Tara's testimony because he is refusing to answer with the reasoning that he will do so after a document appears that he has since the morning of the session he is looking for.

“I don't believe that the witness will answer my questions”, she said, announcing that it has finished its interrogation process, reports “The Justice Vow”.

Vega Iodice added that it requires acceptance of earlier witness statements but that he will submit this request in writing.

“Request acceptance of previous witness statements in line with the 143 rule of order, paragraph 2ʹc) if the witness continues to respond. This can be done in writing in fact because we will select relevant parts and thus make the request in writing”, he said.

And, on the other hand, Kadri Wessel's lawyer, Rodney Dixon, said that not all legal means have been exhausted for questioning the witness.

He added that the case of disobedience to the court has not been explained to the witness and that it has not yet been filed by the court.

“Initially, we don't think all the means are exhausted to get the witness's answer. The Witness was not explained the case of the court's disobedience, nor has he found himself obeying the court. So there are other steps to take before making further statements. Also, these statements should not be accepted according to us that we, in our own defense, will apparently not have the opportunity to question”, he said.

Dixon said that in their view all possible legal means must be exhausted for the witness to witness before the court and then for protection to have the opportunity to ask witnesses questions.

Afterward, Chief Judge Charles Smith III said the witness was warned of things that could be suffered by non-responsible evidence, but he said he didn't care and he kept on not answering.

Dixon said the issue of disobedience to the tribunal is a step that can bring results, but still considered it premature.

Dixon said they should know what materials will be required to be accepted as judicial evidence to prepare for their questions.

Thaci's lawyer, Nina Tavakoli, backed Dixon, and said the court should come up with a conspiracy of the witness's disobedience to the court. In case that is not done, Tawakoli said they want to know in general what evidence this witness is giving.

Krasniqi's defense, represented by lawyer Aiden Ellis, also said that not all means have been exhausted, adding that the witness could be introduced the physical file of his statement. Second, he took time to counterquestion to see what is being decided.
