British Antarctic Survey (BAS) has published several job offers to work at various scientific research stations in Antarctica. These positions are the first to declare this institution and release new bids in a period of three months.
BAS requires a wide range of professionals, from scientists, technonicians, engineers, carpenters, cooks, and electricians to marine biologists, electrical engineers, and health and security consultants. The application is open to everyone, writes A2 CNN.
According to the first bids, the contracts have a period of between 6 and 18 months and are of flexible character. The lowest salary starts at 35,000 euros a year. And all food and housing expenses are covered for all employees, regardless of their duties. BAS will provide accommodation, food, travel, specialised clothing and equipment, as well as training period for employees.
Antarctica is one of the most unique destinations in the world. With a population reaching up to 5,000 people during the summer and 1,000 during the winter, it is populated mainly by employees of different sectors. Meanwhile, it should be noted that Antarctica has an extremely cold climate with a lack of solar light during winter and very low temperatures that can affect the physical and psychological aspects of workers.
