According to investigations conducted by War Crimes Investigation investigators, the initial suspect (D.R.) is suspected of criminal activity “wage war crimes against the civilian population” conducted during the war in Kosovo (1998-1999), in the Gjakova municipality of May 07-10th 1999, operating in groups and organised as officials mobilised with units made up of Serbian MUP.
It becomes known that the suspect was escorted to the police, where he was interviewed in the presence of his defense attorney.
The prosecutor of the case in the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has been informed of all investigative actions and has issued a decision to detain the suspect for 48 hours, in accordance with the legal procedures in power”, a police report said.
Police, among other things, stress it is committed to continue with investigations and close co-operation with relevant authorities to ensure justice concerning war crimes in Kosovo.
