Vuciq said the meeting had a key “bearing on key issues for the Serbian people and the future of Serbia and Republika Srpska”.
Our common goal is to preserve peace and stability, continue and strengthen economic growth and protect the national interests of Serbia and Republika Srpska”, Vuciq wrote in the Instagram.
He has also stressed that during the meeting, he has been discussing the Sretenja holiday, which is held on February 15th.
On June 8th 2024, the Government of Serbia and Republika Srpska approved at a joint meeting a so-called Declaration for the protection of national and political rights and the common future of the Serbian people.
In the document, among other things, it is said that February 15th is Serbia's Statehood Day and the State Day of Republika Srpska, which must be celebrated together.
The adoption of this document was condemned by Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency members Denis Becirovic and Zeljko Komsic, as well as by the European Union and the United States of America.
Milorad Dodik is under sanctions from the United States and Great Britain for minimising the Dayton Agreement and his claims on the division of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
With the 1995 Dayton Agreement ending the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this country is divided into two autonomous entities -- the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska -- plus the Brcko District, which is a self-government administrative unit.
Together they are under the umbrella of the federal government and the rotating presidency. /rel
