Aleksandar Vuciq demands that Picaula first apologize for what he has declared, and then he will be ready to meet with him.

The European Parliament's rapporteur for Serbia, Croatian Tonino Picaula, has started a visit to Belgrade on Monday, where over the next two days he will hold talks with state officials, representatives of opposition parties, the business community, the NGO sector and the media, but it is certain he will not meet with the Serbian president, reports the Croatian newspaper “Jutarnji List1>.

Picaula comes to Belgrade for the first time since the rapporteur was appointed The EP in October last year and following the presentation of the draft report before the Eurodeputs at a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee on February 20th.

The document, among other things, strongly condemns attacks on peaceful protesters and the unconventional claims by Serbian authorities that EU member states are involved in organising student protests aimed at starting a “revolution coloured”.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has said on Friday, on the occasion of the warned visit, that “congratulated Picaulas on a pleasant attitude and that he can write whatever he wants”.

At the end of October last year, after the appointment of Tonino Picaula as the rapporteur of The EP for Serbia, the Serbian president has said he might come to Serbia, but initially he should apologize for what he has said about Serbia and that he should speak with much more respect.

After presenting the draft report for Serbia on Thursday, Picaula has warned reporters that he will go to Belgrade and Novi Sad from 23 February to 26 February, saying he will talk to “if not everyone, then with some of the people” who certainly have an impact on the formation of policies on the topics discussed in the draft report.

According to reports by Croatian news agency H INA, there is no confirmation of a meeting with EP rapporteur from the offices of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, outgoing Prime Minister Milos Vuchevic and Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, Papaparaci attended.

During the day, Picaula will meet with Parliamentary Commission for European Integration Chairman Elvira Kovac, European Integration Minister Tanja Mischevic and media representatives.

On the second day of the visit, meetings are scheduled with representatives of the business community and separate talks with leaders of opposition parliamentary groups and the ruling coalition in Serbia's Parliament.

On Tuesday afternoon, Picaula will visit Novi Sad and will honour the victims of the Novi Sad railway station accident, where on November 1st last year, 15 people -- mainly young people -- died from the collapse of the shelter and two others were injured with permanent consequences.

Among those meeting Picaula is Serbia's Parliament Speaker Anna Brnabyq. The former Serbian prime minister has confirmed to Euronews Serbia that she will meet with the Croatian eurodeput.

Will it be the most beautiful thing in my life? No. Would I like to speak with Tonino Picula like Anna Bernabiq? Never. But as speaker of the Republic of Serbia's People's Assembly, I have to talk to European Parliament rapporteur”, Brnabiq has said.

It has claimed that Picula's assessment that Serbia has achieved limited overall progress or is not “turp”.

Large “Shame on him. And we will see how the European Parliament will react. If you adopt such things, the actually inaccurate things that are in that resolution, then this will be a shame for the European Parliament”, it is over.
