Trump says there was a long and productive call with Putin

US President Donald Trump said he and Russian President Vladimir, Putin agreed, during a telephone call Wednesday, to start “negociata” to end the war in Ukraine and that they will co-operate together, very closely “to solve the conflict. “We talked each about the power of our respective nations and the great benefit that one day we will have working together”, Trump said in a post on his social network, revealing details about a conversation that followed an agreement to exchange prisoners between the two countries.

The republican president said leaders also “agreed that their respective teams should immediately start negotiations” and that they would inform Ukrainian leader Voldymyr Zelensky of their conversation.
He said the call was “long and extremely productive”.

The Kremlin said Putin and Trump had talked about an hour and a half on the phone and that both leaders had agreed to meet.
