U.S. troops withdrawal report security: Ukraine's uncertainty growing-a deal could affect Kosovo, Serbia

Yesterday's German-known newspaper, “ has reported that, according to its information, Italy is preparing for the possible withdrawal of American troops from Kosovo. This has sparked debate in Kosovo, how it would affect security in the country if that happens.

Security expert Drizan Shala has said that the slaughter of American troops from Kosovo can have serious consequences.

“TThe American rupees are part of KFOR, international security forces that guarantee stability and the protection of peace in Kosovo. Without their presence, uncertainty could increase, including the possibility of renewed tensions among ethnic groups, as well as a greater space for the influence of other countries like Russia or Serbia, which are critical of Kosovo's independence”, Shala said.

According to Shales, the departure of American troops could occur by several factors, such as political and diplomatic changes.

“Yes, it is possible that American troops will withdraw, but that would depend on political, military and diplomatic developments. The United States has changed their policies of military engagement in the region through various periods. Whether there is a change in US strategic positions or an international agreement, as a stronger EU or NATO engagement, it could lead to a troop withdrawal”, he added.

As for the US agreement with Russia, the security expert said this could affect Kosovo as well.
