Former National Security Council during Donald Trump's first administration, John Bolton, expressed concern over policies the republican president is pursuing.
In an exclusive interview for Zero Zone in Top News, he said US allies should prepare for a trade war.
I am concerned about the policies President Trump will pursue in his second term. I'm concerned about a trade war between the United States and its allies and I'm also concerned about how he would handle the war in Ukraine, the Middle East.
In the past we have heard of the policies pursued by Ukraine and I am concerned about the new position of the United States that put Ukraine in a difficult position in the face of Russia. I'm really worried that there's gonna be a 4-year-old length of”, Bolton said.
Bolton highlighted the Balkans, where and the danger, according to him, is greater.
“Trump and its advisers must pay attention to the Balkans. I would consider the Balkans to be a priority. Because events between Kosovo and Serbia must be ironed out”, the former Trump adviser said.
He was also asked about the topic of exchange of territories. But according to him, Kosovo and Serbia could iron out conflicts, as the biggest American challenge during Trump's first term was the question of the name of Northern Macedonia.
I was in 2018-2019 and then serious efforts were made to reach a deal. And I think it would be in the interest of the two countries. I don't underestimate the difficulties, but I know there was an opportunity that then disappeared. I think it's worth the effort.
The issue between Kosovo and Serbia is not as serious as establishing the name for Northern Macedonia. However, the parties decided on a compromise and managed to find a solution.
If an acceptable solution, not imposed on the outside, can be reached, it will open up opportunities for foreigners who want to cause trouble to have the necessary ground to sow these riots. And once these barriers fall, there is the possibility for NATO integration”, Bolton concluded.
Bolton also criticised Grenelli for his stance on Albin Kurti's election day, misnouncing his reaction.
