The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo has launched investigations today under suspicion of hatching and conflict of interest among ministry officials and leaders of winning companies.
Chief State Prosecutor Besim Kelmendi's task officer has confirmed to the Economic Bulletin that the “cases are being handled by competent prosecution”.
According to reports by the Economic Bulletin, three tenders from the Health Ministry had won a company whose owner is at odds with two senior officials at the Ministry of Health.
Research dawned on the company. Klimego Consulting, where Thomas Weissmann is chairman, is linked to two senior officials at the Ministry of Health.
The word is for Secretary Naim Bardiqi, who figures as “contact person” for the Kimego Kunsulting business, branch in Kosovo, while the other official of this ministry, Nedip Sheholli, according to research, head “accounting services” for this company.
In the second case, it's about another tender -- Magnetic Rezonation supplies for the needs of Prizren Hospital.
According to research findings, there is suspicion about the tender in question that the same was designed to be given to the winning company.
Two members of the Accounting Commission for the tender took place in conflict with the leaders of the winning company. Also, from the provided evidence, the tender specifics for the winning company are suspected of being devised.
In the second part of the same research, it has also proved that the device (magnetic resonance) by the winning company has been bought in China at cheap prices and poor quality, and has been sold in Kosovo for the Ministry of Health twice as expensive as the market price.
