Munich Airport warned that more flights could be canceled and called on passengers to contact their airlines, Reuters reports.
The Verdi Union announced that Hamburg airport staff, as well as services including maintenance, IT, security and luggage treatment, will not work in two days.
The German airport association ADV said the strikes, such as those at the dysseldorf and Kelney airports earlier this week, would affect about 300,000 passengers.
The two-day “Greva, which has removed the German Metropolitan regions from international air traffic, goes far beyond what can be described as symbolic” strikes, ADL said.
Verdi has organised several strikes across Germany since the start of the wage negotiations in January, and the purpose of today's warning strike in Munich is to pressure the government to negotiate public sector salaries.
