The country's government held a festive meeting, in which Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti expressed gratitude and honour for “all those sacrificed and sacrificed” for freedom.
The license for which we have sacrificed so much requires democracy, which enables people's voice to be heard and citizens' rights protected”, Kurti said.
According to him, the Republic of Kosovo “sot is stronger and more vital than ever before -- not only have we invested in security and protection, but because we have strengthened democratic institutions and normalised their functioning”.
“Economia is growing year after year, rapidly sustainable”, Kurti also said.
Addressing reporters following the solemn establishment of the Kosovo flag, near the buildings of the Government and Parliament, President Vjosa Osmani said this day remembers the century-old sacrifice of the people” for freedom and independence.
We will move forward because there is nothing that can stop our free, independent, sovereign and eternal Republic”, Osmani said.
During the day at Pristina squares, the Kosovo Security Force's (FSK) troops also passed.
At the start of the ceremony, President Osmani has said that a long journey lies on the foundations of the Republic of Kosovo, and that Kosovo is the home where dreams are designed, with confidence steadfast for the future of the country.
“Today we are all together, the people of Kosovo celebrate as one and proudly. Despite differences, despite the challenges, despite the obstacles that have been placed on our path, we are and will continue to remain united for our homeland, our beloved republic”, Osmani has said at the FSK forces' parade ceremony in the capital squares.
Prime Minister Kurti has said that the Republic of Kosovo is the result of all those who fought and tried for the country.
In the past four years, Kosovo has invested hundreds of millions of euros in the purchase of ammunition and weapons systems, from mine launchers' mortars to anti-tank Yavelin missiles and non-aircraft flight butterflies. We've bought thousands of rifles and millions of ammunition, as we've taken the first steps to build the military industry with the ammunition plant and the production of drones in Kosova”, Kurti said at the ceremony.
A day earlier, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani announced that she has accepted a happy message for the anniversary of independence by United States President Donald Trump.
It says that the Trump of the “commends the people of Kosovo for their journey to independence” and highlights “the stability and determination that have accompanied this process”.
“Lumeters among our peoples are strong and we look forward to expanding them especially through increasing investment opportunities in order to bring more prosperity to both our countries”, it says, among other things on paper.
Kurt's government, in recent years, has been criticised by American officials, due to steps dubbed uncoordinated towards the Serb community.
The seventeenth anniversary of independence finds Kosovo as a state recognised by about 117 countries in the world.
The country is part of several international organisations, such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Olympic Committee, the European Football Federation and the World Football Federation.
But it is not yet in the United Nations, European Union, Council of Europe, and so on.
