The news was revealed by his son, journalist Erl Murati, through a post on social networks.
“Thank you to QSUNT doctors and nurses, in particular Dr. Entella Basha, who took care of the health of my father, Shaban Murat, who was separated from life today. The mortore ceremony is held tomorrow, at the Sharra cemetery, starting from home on A Street. Born on September 2nd 1945, Shaban Murati was a prominent figure in Albanian diplomacy and publicism, contributing significantly to the country's foreign policy development. During his long career, he served as Albania's ambassador to northern Macedonia, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland.
Murati was also chairman of the Diplomatic Academy of the Republic of Albania, playing a key role in the formation of new generations of Albanian diplomats. Besides his commitments in diplomacy, he was a well-known author and analyst, publishing a series of books on Balkan issues and international relations.
