On February 20, 1989, the voice of Albanian resistance echoed on the horizons of the Trepca Mine. With the invincible soul, miners launched a hunger strike that shook the foundations of injustice.”, she wrote.
On the anniversary of the famous Trepca miners' strike, Osmani said that “Eight days at underground galleries, they sought, not wealth for themselves, but Kosovo's constitutional rights. They protested, challenging a regime that wanted to erase our national identity”.
The President stated that their strike was not just a union act, but an explosion of national conscience.
