The State Market Inspectorate and the Ministry of Economy in Northern Macedonia will report to the government's session for boycotting markets, following high prices of food products. The report will determine measures that can be taken.
Prime Minister Hristian Mickoski did not provide details about the measures, but proposed that all supermarkets publish product prices on their websites, to make them transparent and light to be compared to citizens.
In addition to the markets, economic operators such as drugstores and technology stores will be discussed. The inspector has completed six-month checks, including distributors, suppliers and traders, Alsat-M reports.
Due to high prices, citizens have been boycotting markets for two weeks, with sales dropping by 46% and 22%.
