billionaire Elon Musk is extending his attack on government agencies in an attempt to cut spending.
Musk, who President Donald Trump has entrusted the role of lowering costs, has called on federal employees to submit the list of achievements for 48 hours. He made that call through a post on the social network “X” on Saturday.
“In line with President Donald Trump's instructions, all federal employees will soon receive email requiring to explain what they did last week”, Musk wrote. “Responsive to respond will be resigned”.
Shortly after that, federal officers including judges, court staff and prison officials have received a three-line email with these instructions: “Please respond to this email with about 5 points of what you accomplished last week and your email is sent to your manager”.
The deadline for reply is written Monday at 23:59, though the threat of Musk made on social networks is not included in the email for those who do not return.
