“I just had a long and extremely productive telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. We talked about Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, dollar power and other various topics”, posted Trump to X.
“We also saw the great history of our nations, remembering that together we achieved great victories in World War II, remembering that Russia lost tens of millions of people, while we also suffered huge losses”, Trump wrote.

We discussed the strengths of our countries and the great potential benefits of future co-operation. But above all, as we both agree, we want to stop the millions of deaths that are taking place in the war between Russia and Ukraine. President Putin even used my powerful campaign slogan. We both trust him deeply.
We agreed to co-operate closely, including bilateral visits to our countries. We also agreed that our teams will start negotiations immediately and the first step will be to talk to the President of Ukraine, Voldymyr Zelensky, to inform him of our conversation which I will do immediately.
