The report reportedly, Kosovar patents were recognised in Austria on September 1st 2023, with the adoption of the agreement for the establishment of the Transport Community at Article 23 of the Law for Drivers (FSG).
“Based on this, Kosovo patent holders have the right to conduct vehicles temporarily in Austria. If they stay in Austria for over six months or settle residence in Austria, they must convert Kosovo's driver's patent. However, Kosovo patent partners were not equal to Austrians, so the conversion required a practical driving exam of”, the report said.
“Now, with the change of relevant regulation, as of March 1st 2025, Kosovo's patent partners of all categories will be equal to Austrian patents. This means that Kosovar patent drivers, from this moment on, can be converted to Austria without the need for a practical driving exam if it stays over six months in Austria or the permanent stay in Austria” is established.
With this change of regulation, Austria meets an important and concrete demand of the economy, and all those who own a Kosovo driver's license are informed by the embassy.
