The prestigious “Freedom House” has published the latest report for all states of the world, including Kosovo.
In this report of “Freedom House”, Kosovo has scored no progress compared to the previous year and is again named a partially free country with 60 points out of 100 is total. Details of the Kosovo report are expected to be published on the official page of “Freedom House”.
The countries of the region -- Albania and Northern Macedonia -- stay a little better than Kosovo on the ground until Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia are worse.
Albania has 68 points, North Macedonia 67, Serbia 56 and Bosnia and Herzegovina 52 points.
This report of “Freedom House”, based on events that took place in 2024, shows that 60 countries have seen the deterioration of political rights and civil liberties in 2024. Meanwhile, 34 countries have undergone improvements.
El Salvador, Haiti, Kuwait, and Tunisia are the countries that have suffered this year's worst decline.
Bangladesh, Butani, Sri Lanka and Syria are the countries that have marked the greatest improvement during the year 2024.
This “Freedom House” report also suggests that conflicts have spread instability and hampered democratic progress worldwide.
“Non-state armed groups including militia, mercenaries and criminal organisations played a major role in destabilizing global security and undermining fundamental rights, in addition to the conflicts in Sudan, Gaza, Myanmar and Ukraine”, the publication of FH says.
