In the fourth and last round of voting, the threshold for elections was the mere majority of 151 votes. With New Democracy holding 156 seats, Tasula's victory was guaranteed, followed. ATS, broadcast.
Tassos Giannisis, backed by the main opposition PASOK party, received 34 votes, while Louka Katseli, the left-wing candidate SYRIZA and the new left, received 29 votes. Costas Kyriakou, candidate of the far-right party Niki, received 14 votes.
The prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, in his message of electing the president expressed conviction that Tasoulas will fulfill his role as a symbol of national unity and guarantor of constitutional stability.

Tasolas will succeed Catherine Sakellaropoulos, whose term ends on March 13th. The oath ceremony is expected to take place on the same day.
