“Eurotour” urges Munich municipality to withdraw support for Vlora Airport

German environmental organisation “EuroNatur” said on Monday that it has addressed a petition to Munich City City Council, with the requirement for attracting support for the Vlora airport project in Albania. According to a statement to the media from “EuroNatur” petitioner “calls for Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter to be expressed on the company's board of supervisory in favour of withdrawing from the consulting services and managing the planning and operation of Vlora Airport, which is currently under construction”.
“Executive Director EuroNatur “Gabriel Schwaderer says that “except for the Bern Convention, the European Parliament and the European Commission have sharply criticised the construction of Vlora Airport at a European natural reserve”.
“Munich City, Federal Republic of Germany Free State and Federal Republic must take appropriate action and completely withdraw from the” project, Says Mr. Schwaderer.
