Polish President Andreze Duda will meet with Donald Trump today, French President Emmanuel Macron will arrive in the US on Monday and United Kingdom Prime Minister Kenir Starmer on Thursday.
Facing the apparent reluctance of the Trump Administration to bring Ukraine and Europe to the peace talks table with Russia, European leaders have reaffirmed their support for President Volody Zelensky and their commitment to common security goals.
It becomes known that after discussions on security priorities in the background of the three-year war in Ukraine, some European officials have planned visits to the US to discuss the end of the war and to push for a European role on the road towards a possible peace agreement.
The Polish president, making his first visit to Trump since returning to the White House in January, has long had a positive relationship with his American counterpart, writes euronewsHe's following in on Telegrafie.
Since the beginning of Russian aggression, Poland has been a staunch ally of Ukraine and a central transportation centre for humanitarian aid and military equipment coming from the West.
Senior members of the Trump administration, including US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, have praised Poland's defence spending and security commitments.
In his first bilateral state visit last week, Hegseth even praised Poland as a NATO model “alatre.
Duda announced that she had spoken with Zelensky on the phone to discuss the US peace process and talks with Moscow.
I have conveyed to him that we constantly believe there is no other way to stop bloodshed and achieve lasting peace in Ukraine, except with the support of the United States”, Duda said.
For this reason, I suggested to Zelensky that he remain committed to the course of calm and constructive co-operation with US President Donald Trump”, he added.
Reports of these diplomatic visits reportedly come after a US delegation met with Russian diplomats in Saudi Riyadh's capital for talks on ending the war.
And no representatives from Ukraine or Europe were invited.
In response, Macron hosted European leaders at an emergency summit in Paris on Monday to harmonise their common position on Ukraine.
Ahead of his meeting with Trump, Macron has declared that he intends to tell the US president not to be weak in the face of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
What I'm gonna say is you can't be weak in front of Putin. It's not you, it's not in your interest”, Macron said.
