“We look forward to forming the new Parliament and Government and continuing our commitment with the authorities, with the aim of supporting Kosovo to approach the EU and to take full advantage of important opportunities like the Western Balkans Growth Plan.
We call on authorities in Kosovo to engage in responsible regional co-operation and intensify their efforts to strengthen rule of law and public administration, as well as protect freedom of expression.
Progress in normalising relations with Serbia is the only way for Kosovo to achieve progress on its European path. Kosovo is expected to implement its obligations stemming from the Agreement on the Way to Normalisation, as well as all past dialogue agreements without further delays or preconditions. There is no alternative for the EU facilitated Dialogue”, said in the joint statement of Kaya Kallas and Marta Kos.
A statement is reminded that Kosovo has submitted an EU membership application in December 2022.
The “Commission remains available to prepare an opinion on Kosovo's application for membership once the Council requests”, the statement said.
