Cherkini: If the U.S. shuts down Special Fund, that's a non-functional option.

Lawyer Artan Cherkini has spoken of the possibility that the United States will stop funding for the Special Court, which could lead to its undoing.

Cerkini said that if the Special Court does not have financing, then it would be impossible to operate, because he said with financing it meant the salaries of judges, prosecutors, administrators and rescue material.

If we agree that the court cannot function without financing and if the US is the main funder and they stop funding, there is no logical conclusion except that the court cannot be objectively able to function”, Cerkin said at “DPS at Fidan” in Klan Kosova. Furthermore, he said the defence should do its job as if the tribunal will continue to the end and, according to him, defence cannot rely on whether the Special Determination will occur.
