CEC: Rating of ballot packages from diaspora to bottom

As the vote count for candidates competing in the February 9th elections for Kosovo Parliament deputies ended on Friday evening, at 38 Community Counting Centre, another process is going to an end. It's about the evaluation of the ballot package from the outside.

“From February 9th, when the assessment or verification of ballot balloting from outside Kosovo has begun and until February 21st, the process has been submitted to 54,409 packages, out of which 51,140 have already been approved, 3,269”, he said.

He also made known the reasons why these shipments were rejected.

“They have been sent by persons who were cancelled during the census as voters outside Kosovo, lack registration report, have been sent more than once, sent more than one ballot”, CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi told RTKli.

As he has indicated, the evaluation process will be submitted to 14 thousand and 306 packages of ballot papers.

During the census period, between 104 thousand and 924 citizens registered for voting outside Kosovo, 84 thousand and 600, were registered to vote via mail, and another 20 thousand and 324 were registered for physical voting in diplomatic representations.

“From 20,324 to diplomatic representation have voted 15 thousand and 352 voters, meanwhile in the vote via mail. The CEC has accepted about 69 thousand packages of balloting”, Elez said.

He announced that the evaluation process would be subject to 14 thousand and 306 packages of balloting.

Meanwhile, another process expected to begin over the next week is that of counting conditional votes and persons with special needs.

There are a total of 12,000 and 801 ballots on condition that they will undergo the counting process, until the vote given by persons with special needs on February 9th is 2 thousand and 597, which will be done at the Counting and Results Centre. / RTK/
