The Central Election Commission has already distributed electoral material, including balloting, to municipalities in the Republic of Kosovo, meanwhile, following the conclusion of the voting process at 941 polling stations, will begin counting ballots for political subjects, enabling this institution to release its preliminary results quickly.

CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi, in an interview for KosovaPress, said the materials are located at the Municipal Counting Centres and in the early hours of Sunday, will be distributed at polling stations.

“Following the planning, the distribution of the election material, including the ballots, has been made to municipalities in the Republic of Kosovo. The materials are located at the Municipal Counting Centres and early Sunday hours will be distributed at polling stations, in which the voting process will begin at 7: 00 a.m. The number of polling stations, which will open on February 9th 2025, is 941, out of which 903 for regular voting with a total of 2,533 polling stations and 38 polling stations for conditional voting, from one for each municipality, with a total of 56 seats. The number of citizens who rightly vote, whose names are distributed to 903 polling stations or 2,533 polling stations, is 1,970,944”, Elesi said.

He has detailed what votes will be counted tomorrow following the closure of the deployments.

According to the CEC's decision, 1,752,650 ballots have been printed, out of which 1,664, 100 for voting in regular locations, 28,450 for parole voting, 38,650 for the vote of persons with special needs and as spare ballots and 21,450 for voting in diplomatic representation. So, according to the CEC decision, 323,218 or 15,57% voter ballots were printed... On election day, only part of the balloting where citizens have voted for political subjects will be counted at the polls. This enables the CEC, in a quick time to publish preliminary results for political subjects. The following day, in contrast to past elections, in the Municipal Counting Centre, will begin counting the rest of the ballot -- that is, votes for parliamentary candidates for” -- Elez added.

Elez has also stopped at the innovation of these elections, which is the location of surveillance cameras in areas within the deployment.

“The deployment of surveillance cameras in areas within the deployment is done in order to ensure the safety of electoral materials and preserve the integrity of the voting process and counting at the location. The location of the cameras at the polls will be made by fully obtaining the secret of the vote, as they will be placed at the other end of the place where the voting booth will be and, under no circumstances, it will be able to register the sign of voter preference. Maintaining camera records will be temporary until the destruction of the electoral material, except those from the polls where irregularities are identified in order to be offered to implementing law institutions. On election day, the CEC will not monitor these cameras, so their census will take place passively, and that access to videotapes can only be provided by decision or demand of implementing institutions”, he said.

For the new legislature in the total race, 28 political subjects, with 1,80 candidates certified by the CEC.
