Former head of the Central Election Commission (KQZ), Mazum Baraliu, has commented on the voting counting process after the 9 February elections ended, stressing that the institution had enough time to better prepare.
In an interview for Info Magazine in Klan Kosova, Baraliu said the CEC had a long period available to carry out the necessary technical and organisational preparations, but according to him, these have not been realised at the right level.
“The CEC has had a time this time to develop its regular activities, a four-year mandate of a government, as well as in the period of the election proclamation six months before this election cycle is held, even a month and a day plus more campaign”.
This means that the CEC has been able to make technical and operational preparations that it means are not made. This turns out that the CEC as it is organised along with the secretariat and municipal electoral commissions would have to have another rerun, which is unfortunately not done with changes and the fulfillment of the new Election Law that took place a year ago of”, He said.
