The AIP has sought to ensure the location of security cameras and voting booths in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law in order to avoid violating citizens' privacy and voter secrecy.
“The Agency for Information and Private (AIP) calls on the Central Election Commission (KQZ) during the voting process to ensure the deployment of security cameras and voting booths in full accordance with Law No. 06/L-82 for the Protection of Personal Data, avoiding any violations of citizens' privacy and voter secrecy. The agency also reiterates the request for political parties to protect citizens' personal data in electronic (e-mail) communications, messages (SMS) and phone calls, without prior consent. ”
The AIP has added that any violation of the principles of personal data protection will be handled in accordance with the Agency's Law for the Protection of Personal Data and Legal Powers.
