But how does the bypass effect blood sugar? As Health points out, some studies suggest that deliberate fasting may be beneficial, but in general, the bypassing of meals, especially in the morning, can negatively affect the control of blood sugar.
The morning crossing can make it more difficult for the body to regulate blood sugar all day long. For example, a 2019 study of healthy young men found that the morning bypass resulted in markedly higher levels of blood sugar after lunch compared with the time of breakfast, reports the report.
