It becomes known that the conversation comes after a massive Russian attack with fears and rockets on October 10th that caused power cuts in Kiev and in all regions of Ukraine.
“I informed President Trump of Russia's attacks on our energy system and I appreciate his readiness to support us”, Zelensky said, praising the discussion as “very positive and productive”.
Ukrainian president said both discussed concrete “agreements” on strengthening Ukraine's air defence.
Zelensky also noted that “received the necessary signals that the US is considering ways to strengthen co-operation with Ukraine”.
Last month, the Trump administration approved its first package of military support for Ukraine according to the NATO-financed Presidential Application List for Ukraine (PURL). These supplies included Patriot air defence ammunition, an essential weapon for the collapse of Russian ballistic missiles regularly used in attacks on Ukraine.
Discussions also concerned the potential supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
It remains unclear whether any decisions have been made on this issue during the 30-minute conversation between counterparts. /Periscopi/
