“VV wants Thaci eternally at The Hague”, Basha caught Eddie Rama: The absurd statement must be contemplated that neither does it.

Kosovo Parliament Speaker Dimal Basha has responded to Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama's statement, which had said that “Vetevendosje movement wants Hashim Thaci eternally at The Hague”. Basha described this statement as absurd and asked Rama to withdraw from it, since, according to him, Rama himself did not [...]
Basha described this statement as absurd and asked Rama to withdraw from it, as, according to him, neither Rama himself believes what he has said.
It's an absurd statement, he said, I think he's going to have to try because he doesn't believe it himself”, Basha said in an interview. Follow Periscope.
Asked about reports between Kosovo and Albania, Basha stressed the importance of sincere co-operation and mutual support between the two countries, voicing disappointment at some Albanian policy stances, Paparaci reports.
The Albanian people on both sides of the border go on thinking that they are brothers and sisters. Politics is wrong. We need a Albania that doesn't work for an open Balkans because it proved wrong. We need an Albania that doesn't work for the Kosovo Serb Association statute for what we care about them, it's good to take care of Albanians in the Valley who are discriminated against on a daily basis.
Have an Albania that is not very good to organise global suicides together with Serbia, taking into account the reports we have. For an Albania that continues to work for Kosovo as an independent state and delegates the messages of Vucinqi, who keeps Kosovo in its Constitution as a territorial part and an Albania that has extraordinary platforms in various international institutions that continue to help us with our membership in those”.
Prime Minister Edi Rama, on the eve of the protest in Tirana in support of former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders, had reacted sharply to the Vetevendosje Movement's statement.
The LVV said the Albanian prime minister should show reflections for the Special Court and raise his voice to higher organs like the Council of Europe and the UN on this issue, rather than organise protests in Tirana.
Meanwhile, Rama in his reaction accused Vetevendosje of distorting earlier positions for the Special Court, stressing that he himself has denounced “farson against Hashim Thaci and others”, while according to him, “Vevendosje is known how much he moved in that direction”.
The Vetevendosje movement has cost me a long sheet, which says that 10 years ago I was a pro and she was against the Special Court... Meanwhile, I have denounced the farce to Hashim Thaci of others whenever and everywhere there has been a need for”, Rama said.
The head of the Albanian government added that it is not in any race with Vetevendosje, but that it regrets that it “undermines Kosovo's institutional relations with Albania in the range of municipal runoff”.
Referring to the earlier ten years, Rama said Vetevendosje “did not recognise the Kosovo anthem either, let alone Hashim Thaci's innocence, which he would eternally love at The Hague”.
He also recalled that the Special Court was established for investigating organ trafficking claims, and not for “taken hostage to the president of the Republic of Kosovo”.
