European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen will stay in Kosovo on 15 October, the European Commission confirmed.
The EU chief's recent visit to Kosovo was in October last year.
The European Commission page has published the agenda, which shows that Von der Leyeen will meet with Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Meanwhile, issues to be discussed have not been made public.
It will visit other countries of the region as well. Von der Leyen will stay in Tirana on 13 October, where he will meet with Albanian President Bajram Begaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Later, she will visit Montenegro, where she will meet with the heads of state, while one day later she will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ursula von der Leyen will also go to Belgrade on October 15th, ahead of his visit to Kosovo.
After Kosovo, the EU chief meets leaders in northern Macedonia.
Von der Leyen's visit to the region will also serve as an opportunity to reconfirm the European perspective for the entire Western Balkans.
The European Union has begun gradually removing Kosovo's punitive measures, which were imposed in 2023 as a result of increasing tensions in Kosovo's Serb-run north.
