John Bolton arrived on Friday in a federal court to surrender to authorities, having been accused of being a national security adviser to US President Donald Trump's administration, had stored “tefor secret” and shared personal notes containing classified information with his relatives.

The act against him rose Thursday.

He did not speak to reporters as he arrived at Greenbel court, Mariland, to surrender to authorities and is expected to appear before the tribunal during the day, Report REL.

Bolton is accused of sharing sensitive information with two of his relatives about their possible use in a book he was writing, including notes from intelligence information and meetings with senior government officials and foreign leaders.

Bolton's lawyer, Abe Lowell, said Bolton has not distributed and has not illegally preserved any documents.

The incident against Bolton, presented at a federal court in Mariland, charges him with eight counts of broadcasting national protection information and ten counts of maintaining these information, all in opposition to the Spyage Act.

For each point of the indictment he may be sentenced to prison for up to 10 years, but the final sentence will be decided by the judge on a number of factors.

In some of the conversations described in the indictment, Bolton and his unidentified relatives discussed using material for a book. Bolton referred to two people with whom he shared everyday notes such as his “red reactors”, the indictment said.

I'm talking to [the book editor] because they have the right to reject first! ” wrote Bolton in a message, according to the indictment.

Bolton served as national security adviser to the White House during Trump's first term. /Periscope/
