After two years of trial, MP Veton Berisha's father is acquitted of rape charges

News of the Court's decision has revealed MP Veton Berisha, as well as lawyer Fanol Krasniqi.

MP Berisha has thanked lawyer Krasniqi for his work, naming this two-year period very serious for his family.

Thank you, my dear friend Lawyer Fanol Krasniqi for the professionalism shown throughout this 2-year-old process for me, my parent and my entire circle and family! After every difficulty comes relief, justice delays but triumphs”, Berisha wrote.

Lawyer Fanol Krasniqi, meanwhile, said MP Berisha's father had been falsely charged and that no evidence has been proved.

During this trial process, no evidence has been proved to link Mr. Berisha with any criminal offence, but only the fact that his arrest had no legal basis has been proved.

The truth is that Mr. Shaban Berisha was not arrested for committing any criminal offence, but because he is MP Veton Berisha's father. This court ruling is a victory of justice and evidence that the truth, however late, comes to light”, the lawyer Krasniqi wrote.
