SPAK leader 33 senior officials under investigation during 2024, 19 of them facing trial

The head of the SPAK, Altin Daman, records these figures, in the 2024 job report presenting the deputies today at the annual Parliament's Burentar Marathon session that began in the morning.
Doman estimates that “despite the slight decline in numbers, the level of completion of investigations and the raising of charges remains high, showing a good management of work volume and sustainable investigative capacity”.
According to official data, 33 senior public officials were investigated during 2024, with two involved in more than one criminal prosecution. Of these, 19 have been sent to court at a request for trial, representing 52.9% of cases a high-level indicator of the outcome of investigations on concrete charges, writes Noah.al, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
Who are the officials under investigation and trial?
According to the SPAK report, a former prime minister and a former head of Parliament have been under investigation, while the latter is currently on trial. The investigation list also includes:
3 former ministers and 2 already on trial;
1 ex-Sv. Minister in the investigation and trial;
4 MPs, of whom 1 is under trial;
7 former mayors and 4 in trial;
3 current mayors, 2 of them on trial;
4 former judges and 1 in judgment;
2 former prosecutors and 2 in trial;
2 former effects and 2 on trial;
3 former secretaries general, all on trial;
A former director under investigation.
In total, 33 high-level officials have been subject to investigation during 2024, while 19 of them are already in justice.
This data, according to the SPAK, shows that fighting corruption at the highest levels of public administration is producing concrete results, with an active and sustainable approach by the Special Prosecutor.
