At an altitude of 162.91 feet [162.91 m], the Spanish basilica has broken the previous record of Germany's Minster of Ulmit, who held the title since 1890, reports the BBC.
Designed by renowned architect Anthony Gaudi, Sagrada Familyia has been under construction for over a century, and the completion of the main building is expected next year.
The central tower of Jesus Christ will grow further with the remaining parts of the cross, finally reaching a height of 172m.
