According to the embassy, attacks on leading Russian oil and gas companies are destabilizing global energy markets and affecting consumers worldwide, including British and local businesses.
Ayp said the measures would also exacerbate energy uncertainty in the Global South.
“Contrary to the vocal assurances of British leaders, these restrictions will have no impact on Russian foreign policy”, she added. “It is time for London to realise that efforts to blackmail our country and speak to us with the language of sanctions and threats are meaningless and futile”, the embassy said a statement.
The actions of the United Kingdom were “caused by increased despair of Britain's “escapitalization” of Ukrainian forces in the field of battle. The pressure of sanctions “only complicates peaceful dialogue and leads to further escalation”, claiming Russia will continue to protect its national interests and ensure economic stability.
The United Kingdom government announced a new package of sanctions earlier Wednesday aimed at Rosneft, Lukoil, several banks and dozens of tanks and companies from China, the United Arab Emirates, India, Thailand and Singapore, accused of helping transport Russian oil.
The measures are part of London's continued efforts to limit Russia's energy revenues amid its ongoing war in Ukraine./Periscopi/
