runoff, Elez: CEC to clear domestic voting list and include 18-year-olds after 12 October

Upgrading data will only be limited to the involvement of persons who turn 18 after the day of the first round elections and until November 9th, as well as the removal of the list of dead persons and those who have renounced Kosovo's substate.

According to CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi, this issue has been regulated by the CEC through the Election Order for the creation of the Vote List.

“In the second round of elections, the same voter list will be used, which is used in the first round, with several limited updates. In all, this list will be met with people from October 13th to November 9th. Also, from the list will remove persons who have given up Kosovo's citizenship or who have changed their lives in this period. Beyond these changes, no further update will be reflected on this” list, Elez explained.

Elez has clarified that on the voting list, there will be no involvement of the citizens' eventual movements from one municipality to another.

“The internal movements of citizens between municipalities are not included in this update, in this phase of the process. This means that citizens who have changed residence from one municipality to another after the first round will not be able to vote in the municipality they moved to, but only where they were registered on the first round voting list. So, the update of the voting list will reflect just these three aspects: the involvement of persons who turn 18 through November 9th, the removal of dead persons and those who have renounced Kosovo citizenship”, Elez said.

So far, according to non-final results, the second round of elections will be organised in 18 municipalities. According to first-round data, the number of citizens rightly voted in the polling of these municipalities was 1,316,129 voters. /Periscopi/
