Portugal's national tied last night (coff) to 2-2 with Hungary in the World Cup qualifying match, and Cristiano Ronaldo made history in the match.
Hungary advanced in 8th minute with Attila Szalai's goal, and Ronaldo scored in the 22nd minute to make the score 1-1.
In the final moments of the first part, the Portuguese shook the Hungarian net for the second time and set a new record.
Ronaldo achieved the 143rd goal with Portugal's lantern, and the 40th when it comes to World Cup qualifications.
In doing so, he became the best goalist at the World Cup qualifications, crossing Carlos Ruiz, who scored 39 times with Guatemala. Lionel Messi is the third in the list with 36 goals in qualifying.
Unfortunately for Portugal, in 90+1 minute Dominic Szoboszlay scored to equalise the score 2-2, and Portugal will have to win at least one point in the remaining two matches against Ireland and Armenia in November to qualify directly at the World Cup.
