PZAP refuses VV complaint, PDK confirmed winner in Han Elez

The Electoral Panel for Ances and Parashtres has rejected the Vetevendosje Movement's complaint in this institution as ineffectual. The reasoning says the complaint is not valid. The VV missed the complaint badly at PZAP, expected a run-off in Han, Elez, while only two candidates were in the race
The Vetevendosje movement has made a major setback in its complaint submitted to PZAP, where it disputes the PDK candidate's victory for chairman of Elez's Hanie, Mehmet Ballzhi.
Although on October 12th in the race for mayor of this municipality were only two candidates, Mehmet Ballzha i The PDK and the independent Rufxi Suma candidate, Vetevendosje Movement, had expected to have second round of voting in the race.
The Election Law clearly shows that the second round of voting is held only if none of the candidates in the race gets over 50 per cent of the vote. The runoff takes place between the two candidates who win the most votes in the first round.
The party's legal office that the government and Kosovo have been with since 2020 does not seem to be a good connoisseur of laws in force.
That's because there were only two candidates in the Elez Khan mayor race. So it was clear that the new mayor would be elected in the first round.
In the complaint handed over to the Electoral Panel for Ances and Parases, with which it disputes the PDK's victory and demands revote, the VV claims that the election-day election assistance vote has affected the PDK candidate's victory.
Consequently, according to the VV, this has made the runoff impossible.
“has directly influenced the other candidate's exclusion from the democratic race, resulting in a victory without a run-off, thus excluding the second round of voting”, the VV complaint in PZAP, which the Nacional newspaper has secured, says.
In an election race with two candidates, the victory is determined immediately after the first round, which makes Vetevendosje's request for <x0-bald run-off at least strange.
This is not the first case when Vetevendosje faces problems in interpreting the law.
During its government time, it has often been accused of lack of professionalism in drafting laws, of which some have been toppled by the Constitutional Court for violating basic legal norms.
Although it was not part of the election for mayor of this municipality, Albin Kurti's party has complained about the second time, on the same topic, at the Electoral Panel for Anxiety and Parashta (PZAP).
As long as the first complaint, handed down three days after election day, has been rejected by PZAP as unfortunate, the second complaint is under consideration.
Through the recent complaint to PZAP, the VV has challenged victory in the first round of PDK candidate Mehmet Ballagejat, which was defeated for the second time independent candidate Rufki Suma.
According to these results, Ballage has won 2,725 votes (51.26%) against Suma by 2,591 votes (48.74%).
