The head of the Special Prosecutor, SPAK, Altin Duman, commented for the first time Monday on investigations launched against Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluk during reporting at a marathon plenary session.

“Regarding the case, it's a matter of investigation and I have no comment to give,” told the MPs.

Asked by the opposition if prosecutor Dritan Prenci has signed the SPAK call for Balluk had received pressure from politics on the issue, Durant said: “has not presented me with concern for threats because of the” function.

Belinda Balluk joined Rama's cabinet as Minister of Infrastructure and Energy in 2019 and has been controlling the largest government portfolio for more than five years. She is Rama's second deputy prime minister facing SPAK after Arben Ahmetaj.

Balluk is also one of the most accused ministers from the opposition, who has deposited in the SPAK a series of rumours on major public contracts suspected of corruption. It is still unclear which of the cases denounced are recorded criminal proceedings.
