PDK in Fushe-Kosovo says two rival parties are trying to buy voters' votes from non-most communities

Just one day before holding the elections, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the branch in Fushesh-Kosovo, has issued a media communiqué where it raises serious concerns about, as claimed, the illegal actions of the two rival parties in this municipality. According to the PDK, individuals associated with these two parties are engaged in the field to influence the will [...]

According to the PDK, individuals associated with these two parties have committed themselves to the ground to influence the will of citizens through methods which, according to them, from favour offers to open vote purchases. Opposition subject in the municipality claims that non-Albanian communities, those Roma, Egypt, Ashkali and the Serb community, have been targeted, respectively.

Full announcement:

Now as the election date approaches and there are less than 24 hours remaining in the expression of civic will, the two political parties in Fushe-Kosovo have been put into action by spreading into the field and using fair, dishonest, moral and immoral forms and means to secure votes.

We as political subjects have information and allegations denounced by honest citizens and activists that individuals assigned to the two other political parties in Fushe-Kosovo are orchestrating active methods of vote buying of non-Albanian communities in Fushesh-Kosovo, respectively, at the Roma, Egyptian minorities, the Ashkali but Serb minority, where through the main representatives of these minorities are being manipulated voters through the promise of benefits but also the classic vote purchase.

We invite state bodies, police, investigators and Prosecution to be vigilant and take legal action against these attempts for legal violations and criminal activity tomorrow on Election Day, and to submit these individuals.

We are optimistic that law enforcement agencies will take concrete steps and measures to prevent voter trading and repeat cases like this happened in the 2021 elections, where individuals assigned to the two political parties stood in front of school objects investigating whether citizens are going out in the polls and being pressured silent to vote for their advisers, as well as disturbing cases when a person assisted several times in many citizens to vote. We are optimistic that our police will take the necessary steps to prevent such illegal acts.
