Kosovo police announced today an action conducted by the Economic Crimes Unit in Pristina.
According to police, an official was arrested under suspicion of misuse of office, writes IndexOnline.
IndexOnline sources claim the official in question is the leader of the procurement division at the Emergency Management Agency, Lulzim Bajrami.
Bajrami is suspected of helping economic operators declare winners in specific tenders, adopting criteria set by the contracting authorities illegally.
The total value of tenders in question exceeds 8.8m euros.
“Investigations have been conducted in continued co-operation with the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo, including providing evidence and other investigative measures, including sequencing communicative equipment”, police said in an earlier official report.
Bajrami, after the interview, has been sent to holding for 48 hours.
Meanwhile, two other suspects have been released in correct procedure.t. /Periscopi/
