Economist Safet Gerjaliu has declared that political agenda is narrowing the country's economy.
He has shown how much money Kosovo has lost since the February 9th elections so far, during which the country still does not have a new government.
“How negative the situation has been, the fact that Kosovo is not part of the allocation of funds destined for the Western Balkans, which represents a cycle of about 880m euros. These funds have been hit at the very core of the vital sectors of the state economy, but also Kosovo's own economy. It is noteworthy that 613m euros are suspended projects.
There are two parallel processes that help every state, IPA funds 2 and IPA 3, of which Kosovo has lost approximately 580m euros. These are three fundamental areas for state functioning that have been directly hit, we have the environment, which has been damaged by 350m euros, energy, which has been damaged by 114m euros, and the aspect of culture, which has been the focus of support from various donors, but has been hit by 15m euros”, Gerjaliu said.
