Unclear race in Albanian municipalities
According to analyses and polls, while the result in most municipalities with the majority Macedonian population is considered largely predictable, the electoral battle remains open and the outcome is unclear in some of the municipalities where Albanian voters make up the majority.
In these elections, a total of 309 candidates for mayors and 576 council lists compete, with around 10,490 candidates in total. 22 political parties, 19 coalitions and 119 civic initiatives or independent candidates participate in the race.
The city of Skopje holds the record of the largest number of candidates for chairmanship, with 16 names.
Major polling figures
The city of Skopje has the largest number of registered voters, with 474.304 citizens eligible to vote. Other high-ranking voters' municipalities include Kumanovo (94.041), Tetovo (87.878), Gostivar (82,893) and Monastery (77.253).

From State Election Commission data (KSHZ), the largest polling centre is located in Skopje's Butel district, with a total of 1,432 voters, reports Rts.al, airs Periscopi.
It is noteworthy that, apart from voters on the regular list, the right to vote will be exercised by 2,162 persons either in prison or in custody, as well as 450 voters from senior homes. There will be no organised vote in the diaspora, but citizens abroad can vote if they return to Macedonia during election day.
The 2025 local elections are the fourth in which mayors and municipal councils are elected simultaneously in all administrative units. The vote will begin tomorrow morning. /Periscopi/
