Nenad Rassic: Elections either in mid-December or early February may be held

The deputy head of the Kosovo Assembly and the leader of the Party for Freedom, Justice and Survival, Nenad Rassic, has spoken of local elections, Serbia's intervention through the Serbian List, and the political situation in Kosovo, including the possibility of new elections. He has stressed that Serbia uses every state mechanism to exert pressure on Serbs [...]
Rassic said his party has participated in six municipalities in local elections and that, despite the pressures, it has managed to have representatives at municipal assemblies.
We have had candidates for mayors in six municipalities, and we will be present at all. This is the first time we've come out in this form in North”, Rassic said.
According to him, the campaign has been difficult because of continued interventions and threats, which, he says, come from structures linked to Belgrade.
Kosovo's “Serbs are linked to Belgrade from many aspects cultural, religious, health. But Vuchy, like a dictator, misuses these relationships. He uses the state camera, the black camera, through finance, blackmail and physical violence against people who do not obey”, he declared the Telegraph.
Rassic added that many Serbian citizens in Kosovo face fears, threats and stops at the border if they are not part of the Serbian List. He indicated that family members have experienced such bans.
My son, who studies in Serbia, is always held four hours at the border. My wife stopped too. This is a psychological struggle that has been going on for years”, Rassic said.
He also criticised the lack of response of international institutions in Kosovo to these cases, stressing that often aid and support focus only on the Serbian List.
Unfortunately, even the international community does not strongly support the diversification of Serbian parties in Kosovo. They meet with the majority and often overlook the problems we have at”, he said.
In the second part of the interview, Rassic spoke of his position as deputy head of the Kosovo Parliament, saying he does not expect the Constitutional Court to declare his election unfair.
I'm 95 percent sure there won't be any administrative measure against my choice. There are no violations of the Constitution”, he stressed.
As for the formation of the new government, Rassic voiced sceptical that political agreement could be reached and predicted elections are the most real option.
I'm not an optimist for the government. Large parties find it easier to go to the polls, while we, as small parties, have it much harder. However, in this situation, elections look like the most real option”, Rassic said.
He said that if new elections are held, they could be held “either in mid-December, or early February”.
“People are tired, but it seems only elections can bring a solution to”, he concluded. /Periscope/
