Identifyd as a Su-30 fighter plane and a jet tank supply of Il-78 is thought to be on a fuel supply training mission when they crossed the border towards Lithuania, a NATO member, about 1600 from the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.
In a post on the X platform, Lithuania's President, Gitanas Nauseda, sharply criticised what he called “flagrant violation of international law and territorial integrity”, the “Euronews” reported, conveys the time.net.
The “strongly condemns Lithuanian airspace violations recently by a fighter plane and a Russian Federation transport plane from the Kaliningrad region. We must react to this”, Nauseda said in a video.
How NATO and the European Union have been on high alert following a series of air space violations thought to have occurred from Russia in recent weeks.
NATO issued a warning to Moscow in late September, saying it would use all means to protect itself from any further violation of its airspace after the collapse of Russian fears over Poland and Estonia's report on an intervention by Russian fighter planes. /Periscope/
