Once a millionaire, former German national transporter today lives at 560 Euros per month

With VfB Stutgart, he won Bundesliga and Superkupa in 1992, among other titles, and also played for Manchester City.
At the age of 18, he earned 300,000 deutschmarks a year, and his salary rose steadily afterwards. Immel in Manchester City, there were almost 2 million German marks a year. That money could have lasted a lifetime.
But what went wrong?

Background: He constantly borrowed money from different people, but never returned it. Among the victims was the partner of the late world champion Andy Bremight.
Since 2016, Immel has lived in his hometown of Stadthallorf (Central Hessen), where it all began for him. Today, he works as volunteer trainers for children and young people.
