The Kosovo government is holding the next meeting.
In his speech, incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti has introduced the 2026 Budget Bill to the office cabinet.
He said that the budget ensures the country's sustainability and development.
Meanwhile, he demanded that this 2026 budget law go to the Assembly and be voted in by all MPs “before the country goes to new elections”.
Although we are the Government on duty, the Assembly has seen that even in such situations where the formation of institutions can last longer than needed, the state continues functioning, namely Article 31's paragraph, it predicts that even the government that has completed the full mandate can propose the annual budget before the assembly. Therefore, as a government today, in addition to implementing a legal obligation regarding the terms for adoption of budget law, we are also carrying out our obligation as a government in office that the state does not remain without a budget. It is up to the Parliament and MPs of all political subjects to approve this budget before going to new elections in order to ensure the continuation of the state and not to face situations where the state has no adopted budget”, Kurti said.
Kurti has announced that the budget for next year is expected to be 4 billion euros.
